December - week 2

As we were driving east towards McKinney, we saw
this awesome looking cloud. It looks like a tornado.
With only 2 weeks of training, Austin swam in his first
swim meet. The morning of his swim meet, Austin said,
"Mom, I'm just warning you, I will come in last."
Right before Austin swam, he came up to me and Terry and told us that he'd be 15-25 seconds behind all the other swimmers. Well, Austin did come in last, but by only 2 seconds. He swam his best time and he and his coach were pleasantly surprised. He did so much better than they had anticipated. Apparently, adrenalin helps! We were so proud of Austin that night.

Our ward Christmas party.
Unfortunately, Austin couldn't attend because he was at a swim meet, but we took Johnny and we had a fun family night. We love our ward and enjoy so many of the families. It's nice to have such great friends! Here we are, trying to pull together a last minute Christmas photo. Nine o'clock at night.... trying to pose that "we are a happy family" look. LOLOL What a night! :) Thanks Emily for coming over and enduring the Jetton chaos!
Til next week!!

December - week 1

Our first snow of the winter season was December 2nd.
This is what I love about Texas: you get to see snow
just long enough to enjoy it, but it doesn't stick long
enough to get tired of it. It melted 3 hours later, just the
right amount of time to get into the Christmas spirit.
I dread this every year. Hauling box after box out of the
attics and figuring out where to put everything. I love
when everything is finally up!
This year, Johnny joined his school's choir. He had three
performances this week: two at school and one downtown
Frisco at Merry Main Street.
It's so beautiful with all the buildings and trees lit up.
It was a fun evening to spend with the family.
Austin and his football teammates enjoyed the first annual
football banquet at Heritage HS. It's pretty neat to think
that Austin is on the first freshman team of this new high
school and wearing the first #64. I love the approach
of all the coaches: respect, discipline and most importantly,
family.
